"England Euro 2024 Squad Finalized: Grealish, Maddison, and Maguire Miss Out"
Gareth Southgate has confirmed the final 26-man England squad for Euro 2024, omitting Jack Grealish, James Maddison, and the injured Harry Maguire.
Alongside them, James Trafford, Jarell Quansah, Jarrad Branthwaite, and Curtis Jones will not be joining the squad.
Despite making substitute appearances in the recent friendly against Bosnia and Herzegovina, Grealish and Maddison have been left out of the squad.
Maddison expressed his disappointment on social media, acknowledging his form may not have met expectations following his return from injury.
Maguire, dealing with a calf injury sustained in May, expressed his devastation at missing out on the Euros and vowed to support the team from the sidelines.
However, there are some surprises in the squad, with Luke Shaw included despite recent injury concerns.
Kobbie Mainoo, aged 19, is the youngest member of the squad, joining midfielder Adam Wharton, who impressed during his debut against Bosnia.
Southgate has opted for Ivan Toney and Ollie Watkins as backup strikers behind Harry Kane. The squad is gearing up for their Euros campaign, kicking off against Serbia on June 16, followed by matches against Denmark and Slovenia in Group C.
