After undergoing successful surgery for a groin issue, 23-year-old Argentine international Enzo Fernandez will miss the remaining six Premier League matches of the 2023-24 season.
However, he is determined to return in time for the Copa America, kicking off on June 20.
Fernandez made headlines with his transfer to Chelsea from Benfica for a record-breaking £107m fee during the 2023 winter transfer window.
This move followed his recognition as the young player of the tournament in Argentina's victorious 2022 World Cup campaign.
Despite the club's challenges this season, Fernandez has made 40 appearances for the Blues, finding the net seven times.
